This is a rare opportunity to hear from Ven. G. B. Kassapa Maha Thera, a senior monk deeply rooted in the Theravada Forest Tradition. The evening will include an insightful Dhamma talk followed by a Q&A session.
Meet Ven. GB. Kassapa Maha Thera
- Early Life: Ven. Kassapa was ordained as a novice monk at 14 in 1977 at the London Buddhist Vihara under the late Venerable Dr. H. Saddhatissa.
- Journey to Buddhism: He received his Higher Ordination at 20 and spent over 21 years in Sri Lanka, immersing himself in the ancient practices of the Dharma.
- Monastic Life: A member of Sri Lanka’s strict forest tradition, Ven. Kassapa has lived in forest temples and rock shelter huts (caves) across the country, cultivating a meditative and ascetic lifestyle.
- Dedication to Dharma: Ven. Kassapa regards Sri Lanka as his second home and a timeless palace of Dharma, where he developed a deep reverence for the teachings of the Buddha.
