Plant for Love
On one occasion, an abbot, who loved planting orchids, told his novice to take good care of his plant. His novice said, “Yes, sir” and he took good care of the plant, watering, weeding and fertilising it. The plant was very beautiful. One sunny day the novice took the plant outside of the window to be in the sun and air. Accidentally, a strong wind blew the plant off the window and broken on the ground. The novice was chocked up inside and fearful of the abbot’s reaction. On the day of the abbot’s return, the novice looked so sad that the abbot asked him why? The novice confessed what had happened to the plant. The abbot was not angry and the novice enquired why? The abbot said, “I don’t plant the orchids for anger.”
